Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Sociology of Health
The Department of Sociology at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of health and well-being to begin fall semester 2019. We seek a scholar who focuses on the intersection of race/ethnicity with other key dimensions of inequality, including, for example, gender, social class, aging, and disability status in shaping health disparities. Strong quantitative skills, with an ability to teach graduate quantitative methods, interest in participating in the new undergraduate Quantitative Social Science Program, and the capacity to attract external funding are highly desirable. Candidacy for this position will be strengthened if the applicant can also contribute to one or more of our existing departmental strengths in social movements, politics and organizations, work, race, gender, global/comparative, or population and migration.
Vanderbilt expects excellence in research and teaching. The Ph.D. is required by fall 2019.
