Assistant Professor of Criminology

POSITION AND DUTIES

Holy Names University in Oakland, CA is seeking applicants for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Criminology beginning in fall, 2019. The Criminology Program at HNU is dynamic, interdisciplinary and humanistic in orientation, emphasizing the core values of the Holy Names Sisters, including the full development of the human person, a dedication to social justice, and service to people who are poor or marginalized. The teaching load is typically 24 units. The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses in Introduction to Criminology, The Criminal Justice System, Juvenile Delinquency and Justice, Research Methods and Senior Seminar in Criminology at the undergraduate level, and graduate courses in our Forensic Psychology program such as the Psychology of Criminal Behavior.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have PhD in Criminology or a related field and have experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students. ABD doctoral candidates will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who have previously and successfully taught the specific courses mentioned above.
