Gonzaga University: Assistant Professor, Critical Race and Ethnic Studies

The College of Arts & Sciences at Gonzaga University is excited about the creation of a new department in Critical Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES), to begin Fall 2019 and invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will work with the inaugural Department Chair (also beginning Fall 2019) on the development of a robust critical race and ethnic studies curriculum in conjunction with affiliated departments and programs, and teach courses in the program.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies, Critical Race Studies, American Studies, or related interdisciplinary field (ABD considered, but degree must be completed by 8/1/19); specialty in one or more of the following areas: African American Studies, Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies, Chicanx/Latinx Studies, Native American and/or Indigenous Studies and intersectional, transnational and/or global studies; demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level (i.e., through course evaluation data, teaching observation reports, sample syllabi, assignments, etc.) and demonstrated potential for scholarly productivity (i.e., conference presentation, research statement, works in progress, community engaged or public scholarship, collaborative work, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning).
