Vote for Sororkin Lecturer Invite for PSA 2025

January 25, 2025 5:30 PM | Jarvez Hall (Administrator)

Dear PSA Colleagues,

I know that many PSA members are dealing with wildfires or smoke. Please know that our thoughts and prayers go out to you for a safe recovery and a return to normality soon.

Colleagues, I am also writing to share some good news for the 2025 conference. Jarvez and I have successfully applied for and received one of the American Sociological Association's coveted Sorokin Awards. Last year, under Alicia's leadership, she also successfully brought Elijah Anderson as a keynote speaker. See the attached award letter. The ASA pays for all the speaker's costs to attend the conference and deliver a keynote address.

To ensure the speaker's choice reflects our community's collective interests and aspirations, I am inviting everyone to vote on the "People's Choice" for the Sorokin speaker. The speaker who gets the most votes from a Qualtrics poll will be solicited to attend the 2025 conference and deliver a keynote address from their own expertise.

Click on the link below to vote by February 1st.
